Somerset County workshop educates on signs and prevention of trafficking and abuse

October 21, 2025

Local behavioral health services hosted a workshop in Somerset County on Tuesday, aiming to inform the community of human trafficking and domestic violence.

Police, educators, medical professionals and other frontline professionals gathered for the event held at Laurel View Village campus.

The workshop included training on recognizing signs of trafficking and abuse, prevention strategies, as well as boundary setting.

Survivors served as keynote speakers — giving personal accounts of their own experiences.

“Many people don’t know what the signs are, or they’re afraid to educate themselves. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. And it’s my goal to link arms, to jump into trenches, to educate the community because our children need us to be aware,” said Jennifer Foxworthy, founder and CEO of Inspirationally Speaking & nonprofit Unstoppable You ministries.
